The Team and Opportunity

You have the chance to join Kraken's Incubation team, which is pivotal in transforming the digital assets industry by solving problems and offering innovative solutions. Team members work with skilled Rust Engineers, cryptographers, and on-chain experts to delve into Layer 2 technologies and on-chain scaling solutions. Furthermore, the team is exploring the integration of more protocols and decentralized applications, shaping Kraken's on-chain product strategy. This role is fully remote and offers you the chance to make significant contributions.

Responsibilities

The role offers the opportunity to shape Kraken’s on-chain strategy, develop smart contracts and protocols, and design EVM layer 2 solutions. You'll also have the freedom to pursue research, attend conferences, and network within the on-chain ecosystem.

Required Skills

Prospective candidates should have a track record in writing efficient and testable code and contributing to open source projects. Experience in on-chain development, deploying EVM-compatible smart contracts, and protocol engineering on EVM-related chains is essential. Deep knowledge of on-chain products across multiple ecosystems, the ability to work in Solidity (as well as Rust and Go), and a passion for secure and reliable software are also required, alongside strong technical writing skills and the ability to act as a mentor.

Desirable Qualifications

Prior experience in maintaining critical infrastructure, managing on-chain communities, understanding tokenomics, financial derivatives, MEV, and modern cryptography like ZKP or MPC is advantageous.
