We are on the hunt for a talented Platform Engineer to enhance our team. The selected individual will play a pivotal role in the development and refinement of our cloud architecture, in addition to handling our suite of development and analytics tools. This role requires a candidate with a solid history in maintaining and building cloud-based frameworks capable of driving large-scale data undertakings that support teams dedicated to data science and software development.

Roles and Responsibilities

The prospective Platform Engineer will primarily focus on crafting, realizing, and supervising cloud infrastructures that perfectly align with the enterprise needs. They must display proficiency in converting business requirements into robust, scalable cloud solutions while also upholding security, cost efficiency, and dependability.

Responsibilities include engaging with business stakeholders to clearly comprehend product demands and transmute them into dependable cloud architectures. The individual is expected to work closely with Data Engineering, Data Science, and Software Development teams to craft cloud solutions for our products and oversee their end-to-end implementation. They will ensure that our cloud architecture blueprints are up to industry standards and extend their platform engineering expertise to our Product Data team in sync with our strategic objectives. They are also charged with integrating and selecting cloud vendors, tools, and frameworks, staying abreast with cloud engineering advances, safeguarding our cloud environments, and relentlessly improving the platform.

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates should have 3-5 years of verifiable experience as a Platform Engineer or a related role, with a focus on constructing, setting up, and maintaining vast cloud-native and cloud-based infrastructures. They must be versed in database management systems such as Postgres, Snowflake, and Lucene-based search engines including Apache Solr/AWS OpenSearch/ElasticSearch. Candidates should be well-versed in AWS offerings, demonstrate strong communication skills, hold cloud certifications, and have experience with streaming technologies and productionizing ML-based cloud solutions.
