Relay Therapeutics is on the lookout for a proactive Associate Director of Technical Accounting to be a part of our transformative journey. This vital role involves handling periodic SEC reporting, technical accounting for special transactions, ensuring SOX compliance, managing stock plans, and coordinating corporate taxes.
SEC Reporting: You will manage external financial reporting, ensuring U.S. GAAP and SEC compliance, and you'll work with various teams for filings.
Technical Accounting: Your work will include evaluating new accounting standards, researching technical accounting issues, and reviewing contracts.
Internal Controls: You will oversee SOX 404 components, coordinate IT controls tests, and provide process improvement recommendations.
Stock Plan Administration: Overseeing the administration of equity compensation, maintaining system integrity, and managing vendor relationships are key parts.
Income Taxes: Managing corporate tax processes and overseeing work such as studies for 382, 174 are also under your purview.
Additional duties include assisting with audit committee meetings, managing relationships with external auditors, and driving cross-functional collaboration.
As an ideal candidate, you possess a Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting, CPA credentials, and 6-9 years of experience with public companies in the life sciences sector. Familiarity with U.S. GAAP, experience with SEC reporting, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial systems like Active Disclosure, NetSuite, and E-Trade are expected. You should be detail-oriented, an adept multitasker, excellent communicator, collaborative, and uphold the highest ethical standards.
Though Relay Therapeutics values remote work, it also emphasizes on-site collaboration, expecting the Associate Director to be available at the Cambridge, MA office for at least three days weekly.
