Sporty, based in London, is seeking a backend engineer for their highly trafficked sites, prominent in Alexa's top website rankings. The role involves development of microservices in a containerized environment using Docker and Kubernetes, focusing on the core logic of complex systems that handle millions of daily accesses. Technology Stack

Candidates should be familiar with, but not necessarily proficient in, several technologies from Sporty's stack, including:

• Spring Boot with Java Configuration and Embedded Tomcat
• Microservice frameworks like Spring Cloud and Netflix OSS (Eureka, Zuul, Ribbon, Feign)

Responsibilities

The Backend Engineer at Sporty will be responsible for:

• Performing quick diagnosis and repair in production to maintain smooth operation for users
• Participating in agile processes and mentoring junior team members
• Possibly managing on-call duties depending on team requirements

Requirements

Applicants should have:

• At least 3 years of relevant experience
• Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and transactional systems
• Advanced skills in OOD, analysis, and design engineering functions
• Experience with behavior-driven testing and microservices architecture
• Proficiency in SQL and technologies such as RabbitMQ, MySQL, Redis, etc.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS Cloud solutions
• Independent working ability and excellent English communication skills
