Introduction to Create Ape

Create Ape is a progressive UX/UI agency located in Irvine, California. They are inviting UX/UI designers who are eager to escape the corporate environment and bring their creativity to a remote team of design and development virtuosos. Create Ape offers a platform for designers to grow their careers and expand their portfolios in a dynamic and supportive setting.

Remote Work Environment

The position at Create Ape is fully remote, freeing employees from geographical constraints and the tedium of daily commutes. The designers are expected to be accessible during office hours, which are from Monday to Friday, 9AM to 5PM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT).

Role and Responsibilities

UX/UI Designers at Create Ape will be instrumental in deciphering client demands and translating them into comprehensive design solutions. Responsibilities encompass user research, user experience design, creation of user flows and prototypes, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance user experiences from start to finish.

Designers are also expected to partake in reviewing and creating client proposals, managing sales calls, directing design critiques, and functioning as a primary point of contact for client interaction. They should be proficient in using design software, notably Figma and Webflow, to develop wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that are intuitive and user-friendly.

Type of Work

The scope of work at Create Ape includes developing informational sites, parallax sites, mobile apps, complex web applications, and wireframes with prototypes, ensuring a broad exposure to different types of digital design projects.

Qualifications and Skills Requirement

Candidates should have at least 5 years of UX/UI design experience and be available during the agency's business hours. Strong communication abilities and familiarity with design tools and software such as Figma, Webflow, and InVision are essential. A deep understanding of UX/UI design best practices, particularly for mobile and responsive design, is also required.

Having supplementary skills like print and brand design, as well as a basic knowledge of front-end coding (HTML, CSS), although not mandatory, would be a significant advantage.

Application Process

Create Ape is looking for strategic thinkers who are passionate about UX/UI design and can bring creativity to the table. They encourage interested applicants to provide a portfolio, resume, and an engaging cover letter or video introduction and to apply through the listed remote job opportunity link.
