The team is responsible for shipping the core engine of Speechify’s extensive product ecosystem through a cross-platform SDK along with backend services. This role is pivotal for someone visionary, who thrives in fast-paced environments and can deliver impactful APIs and streamlined infrastructure.
The role involves collaborating with Speechify’s Product Teams to meticulously scope projects, efficiently reducing the scope for quicker customer feedback, navigating tradeoffs in integration and user experience across varied product teams, and delivering solutions through the cross-platform SDK. Moreover, the candidate will optimize existing functionalities for faster loading and more proficient parsing by crafting efficient abstractions and enhancing algorithms. Additional responsibilities include shipping cloud functions, light backend services, and jobs using NodeJS/TypeScript.
Speechify is looking for candidates who bring substantial experience in delivering dependable APIs that other developers rely on and ensuring the reliability and performance of live systems. The candidate should possess a ‘systems thinking’ approach, appreciating that optimization necessitates end-to-end design and valuing simplicity. Quick ideation and execution, discerning which elements to prioritize, are crucial. The candidate must manage focus effectively within a bustling, remote work setting and collaborate impeccably with designers, marketers, and product managers. Preferred technical experience includes Kotlin Multiplatform, and prior experience with GCP is advantageous.
