The primary goal of this role is to provide direct patient care and clinical oversight that enhances outcomes for pregnant individuals and newborns. This involves implementing evidence-based care on a population-wide scale. As a key player in this role, you are accountable for improving clinical outcomes for the patients you oversee by managing their medical care effectively. Your responsibilities include leading daily clinical huddles to foster collaboration within a clinical pod, which comprises RNs, LCSWs, and RDs. Furthermore, you will review complex patient cases, develop care plans, and support other clinical team members to ensure they deliver evidence-based care.
Monitoring adverse events and conducting clinical retrospectives are also crucial components of your duties, helping to identify areas for improvement in Pomelo's protocols. Moreover, you will spearhead the development and review of evidence-based medical protocols and algorithms pertinent to obstetric and women's health. Active participation in on-call schedules, including overnight and weekend shifts, is another essential aspect of this role.
The ideal candidate for this role should have extensive obstetric experience, especially in treating high-risk patients, along with some experience caring for infants. Passion and proven effectiveness in optimizing evidence-based care and improving perinatal outcomes are crucial. Candidates should have experience using data to drive patient engagement, activation, and outcomes. A demonstrated ability to lead successful teams with outstanding collaboration and teamwork is also essential.
In addition, a sense of urgency to improve outcomes, combined with exceptional organization and attention to detail, is required. A growth mindset that allows one to navigate process changes and ambiguous situations with enthusiasm, creativity, and accountability is paramount. Familiarity with multiple tech platforms and the eagerness to advise on platform improvements and adaptability to new systems are also vital. Thriving in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment and possessing phenomenal interpersonal and communication skills are key.
Candidates must be a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) with significant experience in obstetrics and some experience in infant care. An active, unrestricted license to practice in Georgia and a willingness to obtain licenses in all US states are required. If the candidate is an NP, residence in a nursing compact state is necessary.
Additional qualification areas include telehealth and/or remote monitoring experience, and experience in outpatient or home-based management of higher-risk patients.
