Role of Sales Manager in Emerging Markets

As a Sales Manager overseeing Emerging Markets at Restaurant365, your role is pivotal in the company's strategic expansion efforts beyond the core restaurant vertical. The position involves selling solutions to organizations in industries that are restaurant-adjacent. The primary product for this expansion is Restaurant365’s AI-based Employee Training platform. The Sales Manager is tasked with leading a team of six Account Executives to introduce the employee training solutions to various new verticals such as hotel and hospitality, retail, senior living communities, among others.

Key Responsibilities and Value Addition

The responsibilities of the Sales Manager encompass the following key areas:

  • Leading the sales team in identifying and penetrating businesses in adjacent markets.
  • Ensuring accountability within the Account Executives team to generate a sales pipeline that results in closed revenue and meeting sales quotas.
  • Developing and refining sales playbooks and materials necessary for successfully launching solutions in new verticals, starting with Employee Training.
  • Selling solutions based on value and return on investment rather than mere features.
  • Identifying customer pain points and linking them back to company solutions.
  • Managing the complete sales cycle, from sourcing new opportunities to closing the deal.
  • Ensuring new customers successfully transition through sales to "go live" in implementation.
  • Maintaining accurate sales forecasting and pipeline management.
  • Building and nurturing long-lasting business relationships with current customers and vendor partners.
  • Presenting the ExpandShare platform effectively to potential clients.
  • Conducting continual industry research to stay ahead of market trends.
  • Collaborating with Sales Engineers for complex demonstrations and requirement analysis.
  • Following a systematic and process-oriented approach to close business deals.
  • Undertaking occasional travel as required.

Qualifications and Skills Required

Success in this role is contingent upon the following qualifications:



  • Proven sales leadership experience in a SaaS environment, ideally in a startup or early-stage setting.
  • A willingness to assist both customers and the company in developing new verticals and entering new markets.
  • A preferable Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience.
  • More than 3 years of Account Executive experience, preferably within SaaS, and ideally with Learning Management System (LMS) experience.
  • At least 2 years of Sales Management experience.
  • Proficiency in using Salesforce or similar CRM software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to develop and adhere to sales processes.
  • A high degree of motivation and results orientation.
