Job Opportunity: Data Scientist Role

Eight Sleep is currently seeking an experienced Data Scientist adept at working with sales and marketing data to develop complex predictive demand models. The role demands a blend of strong analytical skills and marketing insight to inform and optimize growth strategies. The Data Scientist would be entrusted with developing and maintaining predictive models concerning sales growth, customer behavior, and lifetime value, alongside creating a Media Mix Model to evaluate various spending scenarios across different avenues.

Key Responsibilities

The Data Scientist will collaborate closely with Growth and Finance teams to provide strategic insights into business opportunities aimed at driving incremental revenue growth. This includes quantitative analysis that aids in understanding marketing performance and member behavior for the leadership team, including the CEO, CFO, and VP of Growth. The role involves creating and maintaining dashboards for tracking key marketing metrics, building extensive analytics experiments, reports, and dashboards using SQL, R, Python, or similar scripting and statistical tools.



What is Required

Prospective candidates require a bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field, coupled with over three years of data science experience in a marketing or growth-oriented role. Familiarity with SQL and data visualization tools such as Looker or Tableau is crucial, as is proficiency in languages such as Python or R. Candidates should also have experience in building ETL data pipelines using dbt or similar DAG tools, alongside excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data to inform decisions.
