Acquia offers comprehensive financial and administrative support to the International Director of Finance, based in the UK, overseeing global operations across multiple countries including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, India, Singapore, and the UK. This role is integral to the organization, contributing significantly to its global finance operations based in the UK, India, and the US. The position demands a team-oriented, hands-on work style, tackling tasks big or small to ensure efficient operations.
The role encompasses various duties such as reviewing and analyzing VAT/GST on invoices and expense reports, preparing timely returns, responding to supplier inquiries, reconciling statements, and addressing discrepancies. It also involves administering the company's travel and expense systems in compliance with global T&E policies, collaborating with HR to process payroll transactions accurately, managing UK payroll with online software, and assisting with outsourced payroll for other countries.
Furthermore, responsibilities include assisting with UK Pension Administration and annual filings, preparing payments for international payrolls and taxes, communicating payroll matters with employees, documenting all payroll activity in the general ledger, maintaining PTO trackers, and assisting with year-end accounts, tax reporting, and the annual audit of the parent company’s financial statements.
Applicants are expected to hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, alongside at least one year of accounting experience, preferably in the technology industry. Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel is preferred, although training will be provided. A basic understanding of US and UK GAAP is beneficial, and international experience is preferred, though not necessary, as training is available.
The ideal candidate should exhibit a strong work ethic, professional demeanor, and excellent attention to detail with robust problem-solving and data analysis capabilities. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are imperative, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness.
