Position Overview

The role of Chief of Staff at the KIPP Foundation is a pivotal position that supports the CEO in maximizing their effectiveness and overseeing key strategic initiatives. The Chief of Staff will work remotely to streamline executive functions and ensure the CEO's time is dedicated to the organization's top priorities, report directly to the CEO, and manage the executive assistant to the CEO.

Position Summary

As the Chief of Staff, the incumbent will play a strategic role in decision-making processes, optimize executive workstreams, and facilitate relationship management, including steering board relations and preparing for board meetings. Special projects and ensuring alignment across the organization will be integral responsibilities to push forward the CEO's vision and business goals.



Primary Responsibilities

The role is categorized into three main areas: ensuring the CEO's highest priorities are met, promoting team collaboration, and driving results aligned with the CEO's vision:

  • Ensure the CEO's highest priorities by acting as the gatekeeper, managing schedules and workflows, and representing the CEO in discussions.
  • Foster team collaboration by structuring workflows to enhance communication and introducing processes for increased alignment.
  • Support the CEO's vision by driving special projects, preparing key documents, and leading strategic initiatives.

Key Qualifications

Eligible candidates should have 12 to 15 years of experience in dynamic and high-performance settings. Skills required include strategic scheduling, high emotional intelligence, strong analytical abilities, and professionalism in handling confidential matters. Candidates should be adept in problem-solving, capable of communication and implementing change, and maintaining composure in challenging situations.

A focus on education equity, racial justice, and inclusion aligned with KIPP's values, is essential, and educational experience is considered an advantage, though not mandatory.

Salary

The salary for the role of Chief of Staff at the KIPP Foundation ranges from $250,000 to $300,000 annually.
