Technical Lead, Data Platform

This is a full-time role that can be located in the headquarters in the SF Bay Area (Burlingame, California), or remote.

Responsibilities

  • Be part of the data platform team โ€“ a team of innovative engineers working on core pieces of serving our ML models, data APIs, and ML infrastructure
  • Participate, contribute and lead designing of systems for building foundational pieces of the data platform
  • Lead a team of engineers, assist and lead scrum planning to deliver high quality, impactful software
  • Work with multiple stakeholders on requirements, project management and solutions for data APIs
  • Drive efficiency in systems through automation, documentation and following software engineering best practices
  • Demonstrate high degree of ownership in all facets โ€“ design to productionizing to iterative improvements
  • Lead and contribute to teamโ€™s roadmap, project planning and prioritization

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
  • Ability to write high-quality code in Java (Kotlin a plus) with a track record of shipping impactful data APIs
  • Experience implementing, designing, and scaling production-level data APIs in AWS using Kubernetes
  • Experience working with highly sensitive data in a healthcare environment
  • A track record of making quality vs. deadline tradeoffs in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to lead a team of engineers and perform project planning, management and execution
  • Strong communication skills and ability to generate consensus and buy-in within the team
  • Organizational skills and the ability to simplify complex problems and prioritize what matters most for the sake of the team and the business
