Opportunity: Senior Java Developer at IRS

Leidos has an opening for a Senior Java Developer who will join a long-term project at the IRS within the Media & Publications Division. This role involves playing a critical role in application programming, testing, documentation, and delivery, which are essential to IRS operations and tax filing season.

Core Responsibilities

• Identifying and implementing modernized applications to meet evolving business needs.
• Migrating legacy systems to updated, multi-tier, enterprise architecture compliant solutions.
• Producing formal requirements documents.
• Designing, developing, and testing Java-based solutions; integrating commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products.
• Performing application code upgrades and maintaining related documentation.

Professional Requirements

The ideal candidate for the Senior Java Developer position will have at least a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of eight years of Java development experience, proficiency in technologies like PrimeFaces/JSF, RESTful Web Services, Spring Boot/Spring Framework, Hibernate, and Oracle. Experience may substitute for a degree.

Preferred Experience

• Expertise in cloud computing.
• Experience with Adobe Manager.
• Possession of a valid IRS Public Trust MBI.

Security Clearance and Employment Conditions

The candidate must pass the IRS Minimum Background Investigation and meet certain residency and tax compliance criteria. The position is open to US Citizens and legal permanent residents. The salary range offered is $125,000 – $130,000 annually.
