About the Role

Design Pickle is on the hunt for a Data Engineer eager to build and maintain data pipelines that drive decision-making and actionable insights. The Data Engineer will collaborate with a global network of creatives to inspire customers and enhance processes. The role demands the development of efficient data models, ETL designs, and data integration services, as well as the management of their growth and scalability. Reporting to the Director of Data Science & Analytics, the position requires close work with various teams in a fully remote setting, headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Who We Are Looking For

Design Pickle values hard-working, creative individuals and seeks someone with a solid software development background and significant experience in SQL, ETL processes, and object-oriented programming, such as Python. Database schema design and data warehousing experience are essential, alongside practical AWS skills. The ideal candidate will also have a strong ability to analyze datasets, communicate effectively, and solve complex problems.

Additional qualifications like a degree in Computer Science or equivalent, experience managing AWS Data Lakes, and proficiency in business intelligence tools or Ruby on Rails will earn bonus points. A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently within a globally dispersed team are critical for success.

Key Objectives and Responsibilities

Within the first 90 days, the Data Engineer is expected to establish the data architecture for Design Pickle's suite of tools and analytics platform. They will collaboratively understand data needs, define SLAs, ensure security and data quality, and launch sophisticated data models and visualizations. The role includes optimizing data processes and mentoring others, with a strong emphasis on documentation.

Compensation and Location

The role offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $115,000 per year, adjusted for skills, qualifications, and market alignment. This salary range is for US-based positions only, with potential for bonuses or commissions. The remote position is linked to the company's headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona.
