The position that Veeva is hiring for is an Associate Quality Engineer, focusing primarily on their rapidly expanding Veeva Vault platform, which caters to the life sciences industry specializing in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical devices. As an integral member of the Quality Assurance and Release Engineering team, the responsibilities encompass both functional and automation testing of software, aimed at ensuring customer success with every release of the product.
In this role, the selected candidate will be tasked with:
Creating testing-related documentation, such as test plans, test cases/scripts, and bug reports to assess quality and associated risks.
Automating and collaborating with the automation team to enhance regression coverage through effective automation of features.
Triage and/or assist in the triaging of automation results.
Developing deep product expertise through hands-on quality assurance activities.
Conducting QA tests and verifying outcomes within established schedules and timelines.
Collaborating closely with software engineers, product managers, and other QA testers in an Agile team environment.
The ideal candidate for the Associate Quality Engineer position should fulfill the following qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science/Applications, or a related field.
Experience with coding in Java and/or mobile programming languages.
Understanding of Software QA methodologies, tools, and techniques such as black box and automated testing in an environment with short-release cycles.
Recent graduates or individuals with relevant work experience, including software development and/or software test automation.
A strong sense of curiosity and the capability to quickly learn new technologies.
Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
To stand out among candidates, applicants are encouraged to have the following preferred skills:
Experience using Cypress for automation testing.
Familiarity with SQL databases.
Knowledge of object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Java, Python).
Familiarity with Atlassian products like Jira, Greenhopper, and Clover.
Understanding of modern best practices in software development.
Experience in/mobile testing and automation (e.g., Appium, XCUI, Espresso, KIF).
Knowledge in mobile app development for Android or iOS.
The base salary for this position ranges from $65,000 to $140,000 CAD. This range, as indicated, is provided to comply with local regulations and serves as a potential salary range for the role. Salaries may be adjusted based on factors like experience, location, and individual qualifications. In addition to the base salary, candidates may also be eligible for other compensation forms, including variable bonuses or stock bonuses.
