The primary role of the auditor involves auditing supplier billings to identify and quantify areas of financial non-compliance with contractual agreements. The work involves a detailed assessment of transaction data against relevant contract provisions, thereby investigating areas of apparent non-compliance. The outcome of verified financial non-compliance typically leads to cost recoveries and helps in identifying future savings through root cause analysis and recommendations for process improvements.

Responsibilities

The Auditor I will take on various responsibilities aimed at ensuring compliance and enhancing service delivery:

  • Claims Identification and Support: The auditor will utilize their experience to perform essential audit procedures. This includes data collection and analysis of documents received from clients and their suppliers, ensuring accuracy in their findings.

  • Communication of Results: It is crucial for the auditor to communicate the results of their analysis clearly, both in written and verbal forms, to all necessary personnel within the organization, including internal stakeholders, suppliers, and clients.

  • Independent Work Balancing: The auditor is expected to work independently while managing multiple audit engagements simultaneously. This requires effective time management skills to ensure all projects progress toward completion timely.

  • Utilization of Audit Tools: Proficiency in various audit tools is essential. This includes MS Excel and IDEA, where the auditor will perform data mining and analytics to verify and validate billing accuracy, ensuring compliance throughout the auditing process.

  • Quality Standards Maintenance: The auditor must consistently produce high-quality work and implement self-check mechanisms to eliminate errors. Participation in peer reviews will be an integral part of maintaining quality standards across the auditing teams.

  • Preparation of Audit Reports: Drafting and issuing audit reports summarizing audit activities and findings will be a significant part of the role. Clear, concise, and persuasive communication of these findings is necessary during presentations.

  • Transaction Review: The auditor will need to have a strong aptitude for understanding contract language, identifying key financial provisions, and reviewing supplier data that supports invoicing.

  • Professional Development: Participation in knowledge-sharing activities and training, as well as an initiative in learning new analytics tools, will be strongly encouraged to foster personal and professional growth.
