Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer in Growth, you will lead efforts aimed at improving how new users onboard and interact with Clerk's solutions. You will:

• Operate as a full-stack engineer, utilizing technologies such as Next.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Go, supported by PostgreSQL.

• Ship features and updates across various platforms, including Clerk SDKs, documentation, and dashboards.

• Collaborate with AI enablement, Docs Engineering, Product, and Marketing teams to refine developer experiences.

• Shape interactions between AI agents and Clerk's systems, focusing on optimizing onboarding processes.

This role is design-oriented, focusing heavily on experimenting with A/B tests and delivering impactful features, while also conducting growth experiments that align well with a Product-Led Growth (PLG) approach.

Who You Are

The ideal candidate should have:

• Five or more years of hands-on experience in software engineering?

• Experience of one to two years in running growth experiments in a PLG/SaaS industry (experience in developer tools is preferred but not mandatory).

• Proficiency in full-stack development, particularly in JavaScript/TypeScript and Go, along with solid SQL skills.

• The ability to define events, query databases (like BigQuery), and analyze data using analytics tools like PostHog.

• A user-focused mindset and strong collaborative spirit, demonstrating leadership and comfort with sharing insights and dashboards.

  

• Excellent communication skills and an openness to asking questions, all while being excited about leveraging LLM-based tools in your engineering work.
