The role of a Commercial & Energy Analyst at Exergy3 is open for immediate hiring. This is a full-time position targeted at highly motivated, analytical, and dynamic individuals who are eager to contribute to the growth and success of the company within the energy sector. The successful candidate will play an essential role in enhancing commercial performance, identifying new business opportunities, and leveraging market insights for strategic decision-making.
The Commercial & Energy Analyst will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities aimed at supporting the company's objectives:
Market Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis of the energy market. This includes evaluating energy pricing, supply and demand trends, regulatory changes, and the competitive landscape. The analyst will be expected to provide insights and forecasts to inform decision-making throughout the organization.
Financial Modelling & Reporting: Build and maintain financial models that assess the commercial viability of projects, services, and pricing strategies. The analyst will prepare detailed reports, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and assess commercial risks to support bid development and writing.
Data Analysis: Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, potential risks, and create actionable insights for senior management. The analyst will track key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure the success of business initiatives.
Energy Sector Insights: Keeping abreast of developments in the energy industry, including trends in renewable energy, energy transition, and emerging technologies is crucial. The analyst will provide strategic recommendations based on shifts in the market and new trends.
Collaboration: Flexibility in supporting various needs of both customers and the company is required. This role necessitates a willingness to assist across different areas of the business as necessary.
Business Development Support: Assist with the evaluation and negotiation of commercial contracts, ensuring all aspects of the commercial value proposition are considered. Identifying new business opportunities and assessing their feasibility will be key to the role.
Risk Management: Identify and analyze potential risks, including financial, regulatory, market, and commercial risks. Recommendations will be made to mitigate these risks and protect the company’s commercial interests.
Applicants must meet certain qualifications and skills to be considered for the role:
A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience is required.
Proven experience (2-5 years) as a commercial or energy analyst in the energy sector or related industries such as utilities, renewables, oil, and gas is ideal.
Strong proficiency in financial modelling, data analysis, and reporting tools, especially MS Excel. Familiarity with emerging AI modeling is an added advantage.
Knowledge of energy markets, pricing mechanisms, and relevant industry trends.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills are essential.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting complex data in clear and actionable terms are necessary.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and a strong attention to detail.
Exergy3 offers a competitive salary range of £35,000 – £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. Upon successful completion of the first six months, participants may also receive EMI options. Other benefits include:
34 days of annual leave (25 flexible + 9 fixed), which may align with local school term breaks or Scottish Bank Holidays.
Hybrid working options and compressed hours totaling 35 hours per week.
