Job Overview

Nautilus Solar Energy is seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee the development and construction of their solar photovoltaic (PV) portfolios across designated regions in the United States. Key Responsibilities

The Senior Project Manager will manage the entire project life cycle after the Master Infrastructure Purchase Agreement (MIPA) is signed, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. Core responsibilities include:

  • Leading the project life cycle from early-stage development through construction, commissioning, and asset management support.
  • Evaluating projects and portfolios in collaboration with the Origination and Structuring teams.
  • Improving processes to enhance project execution and outcomes.
  • Managing internal resources to build effective teams for project success.
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships with external resources to foster beneficial partnerships.
  • Reviewing and commenting on project documentation like contracts, schedules, estimates, and other critical information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintaining project data within the company's software system, ensuring timely updates and accuracy.

The Senior Project Manager will also handle the Request for Proposal (RFP) process by assembling required documentation and evaluating proposals to select preferred vendors. This includes preparing and participating in contract document reviews alongside the Legal and Operations teams.

Additionally, the role requires hosting weekly Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) meetings, conducting site visits, and ensuring project quality within the approved budget while managing all Engineering, Procurement, and Construction activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Project Management Familiarity: Knowledge of industry standard practices, particularly Project Management Professional (PMP) methodologies and ISO9000 guidelines, is essential.
  • Solar PV Experience: Proven expertise in managing solar PV projects, with a record of financial, work, and schedule reporting.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to maintain clear and precise project documentation, corresponding effectively, and managing files systematically across multiple projects.
  • Construction Knowledge: Sound understanding of electrical, civil, and structural trades, including safety practices to conduct audits appropriately.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with project planning and management software, as well as standard applications like PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Contract Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate contracts and establish Design-Build Contracts within the company’s protocols.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant project management experience, preferably within the energy sector, alongside an undergraduate degree in Engineering or a related field.
