As the Copy Chief, you will be responsible for:
Creating and scaling compelling marketing angles for existing and new products across various channels, including paid ads, email/SMS, landing and product pages, web content, funnels, scripts, and packaging.
Owning the Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) related to copy by forming hypotheses, briefing tests, and collaborating with growth, design, and analytics teams to enhance key performance metrics such as Return on Ad Spend (ROAS), Conversion Rate (CVR), Average Order Value (AOV), Lifetime Value (LTV), Click-Through Rate (CTR), and Cost Per Acquisition (CPA).
Hiring, assigning, and managing workloads for both in-house and freelance writers while establishing processes for briefing, drafting, editing, and quality assurance, ensuring clarity, narrative consistency, and maintaining a world-class voice.
Translating complex research and science into compliant, benefit-driven messages while adhering to regulatory standards by keeping the audience's perception in mind.
Building internal systems and standards, such as voice/style guides and messaging maps, to streamline and enhance overall copy quality and efficacy.
Candidates for the Copy Chief role should possess the following:
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in DTC/eCommerce copy, which includes at least 3 years of providing leadership or editing for copy teams.
A proven track record of CRO success, demonstrated through established test plans and clear before/after results.
Experience in hiring, managing, and coaching copy teams effectively, showing capacity planning skills.
Expertise in editing standards, claim substantiation, and creating a messaging hierarchy that resonates with audiences and enhances brand impact.
Strong project management skills alongside effective communication capabilities to collaborate cross-functionally with teams involved in growth, product development, and analytics.
Familiarity with the supplement marketing compliance landscape is a plus or the capacity to quickly adapt to this area.
