The Corporate Credentialing Specialist plays a crucial role in coordinating and organizing credentialing and privileging processes for physicians and advanced practice professionals at Shriners Children's. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate credentialing and privileging requests for various facilities, ensuring all evidence of education, training, and experience is documented accurately.

  • Verify credentials and expiry dates using approved verification sources, thereby maintaining compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.

  • Investigate any discrepancies or adverse information and validate sanctions or complaints against practitioners.

  • Maintain accurate records within the credentialing database to support the enrollment and delegation requirements of healthcare providers.

  • Work collaboratively with Medical Staff Offices to ensure timely processing of approvals and compliance with accreditation standards.

  • Stay updated with current knowledge of accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance in all credentialing activities.

Required Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Minimum Experience: At least 1 year of experience in hospital regulatory credentialing, as well as 1 year of experience with credentialing databases, specifically MD Staff or similar.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access is required.

  • Certifications: Candidates should have CPCS or CPMSM certification, or be willing to obtain such certification within 24 months of hiring.

  • Education: A High School Diploma or GED is required, while an Associate's or Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not mandatory.
