Position Summary

The job opportunity involves the role of a DC Retirement Plan Specialist, primarily focused on supporting the administration of qualified retirement plans, including 401(k), profit-sharing, and cash balance plans. The specialist will assist with daily operational tasks, data processing, and client support needs. Importantly, this is a fully remote position that can be performed from anywhere in the United States; however, preference is given to candidates located within the Central and Eastern time zones.

This position is designed for individuals who are adept at handling the technical and detail-oriented aspects of retirement plan administration while being part of a collaborative team. This role does not require full responsibility for plans but rather focuses on supporting Plan Administrators and Senior Administrators in meeting compliance and administration timelines.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, the specialist will be expected to:

  • Assist with the administration of various qualified retirement plans under the guidance of a Plan Administrator.
  • Prepare and review plan data for annual testing, valuations, and compliance tasks.
  • Process contribution uploads, distributions, and loans along with related documentation.
  • Support the preparation of annual compliance testing including ADP/ACP, coverage, and top-heavy testing.
  • Aid in the preparation and filing of Form 5500.
  • Review census data for accuracy, following up as necessary with clients.
  • Maintain plan records, updating internal systems and documentation regularly.
  • Respond to routine client inquiries while coordinating with recordkeepers, advisors, and internal teams.
  • Assist with plan amendments and notices as assigned by the administrators.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates for this role should possess the following qualifications:

  • 1 to 3+ years of experience in retirement plan administration or related financial services.
  • Knowledge of qualified retirement plans and ERISA concepts is a plus.
  • Experience working with plan data, spreadsheets, and administrative systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
