Title

The position available is the Technology Project Designer II. This role is ideal for someone highly motivated with a strong attention to detail. As a Technology Project Designer at Design West Engineering, you will be working closely with experienced engineers, allowing you to apply your design expertise to various exciting projects. The working conditions are hybrid, requiring three days in the office and two days of remote work.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities for this role include:

• Conducting research on technical product information
• Delegating and conducting job site inspections to assess existing conditions and contractors' progress
• Designing and engineering systems related to telecom, security, network, audiovisual, acoustics, and Wi-Fi
• Preparing drawings, specifications, contract documents, and design calculations utilizing Revit and AutoCAD
• Supporting the team in developing tools and improving processes
• Attending internal team and project meetings

This role is pivotal to improving the firm’s design practice as well as contributing to continuous improvements across various projects.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• At least 3-5 years of experience as a Technology Designer in Technology Engineering for telecommunications systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam Studio
• Excellent communication skills and familiarity with relevant California Building Codes and National Electrical Codes
• Experience performing job site inspections and the ability to work independently or collaboratively
• Strong time management skills for meeting project deadlines

Desired Qualifications

Additional bonus points will be awarded if you have:

• Over 5 years of experience as a Technology Project Designer
• Progress towards EIT/PE Licensure or other certifications such as CTS (AVIXA) and APP (ASIS)

Targeted Compensation

The targeted compensation for this position ranges from $65,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience, alongside the opportunity for bonuses twice a year.
