Job Role
The position available is for a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), who will play a pivotal role in leading the corporate finance function. This role involves being a strategic partner to the executive team, driving the company's financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis. Key Responsibilities
The Director of FP&A will be responsible for numerous strategic and operational tasks, including:
Strategic Financial Planning:
Leading the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range strategic planning processes.
Developing sophisticated financial models to support long-term strategic initiatives, which include scenario planning and potential mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
Providing financial insights and recommendations to aid the company’s growth strategy and profitability goals.
Analysis & Performance Management:
Overseeing the preparation of monthly and quarterly management reports, including variance analysis of actuals versus budget/forecast, key performance indicators (KPIs), and financial dashboards.
Offering insights into business trends, identifying key drivers, risks, and opportunities.
Conducting analyses on product profitability, customer lifetime value, operational efficiency, and ROI.
Business Partnership:
Acting as a trusted financial advisor to other departments and the executive leadership team.
Collaborating with various departments, such as Sales and Marketing, to develop financial models for new initiatives.
Preparing and presenting compelling financial narratives and presentations for the Board of Directors and key stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Development:
Leading and mentoring a high-performing FP&A team, advocating for a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Setting clear goals and objectives that align with the company's financial and strategic priorities.
Recruiting and retaining top talent within the FP&A team.
Process & System Enhancement:
Enhancing FP&A processes, systems, and tools to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Collaborating with the Accounting and IT departments to ensure data integrity and streamline financial reporting workflows.
Evaluating and implementing new financial planning software and business intelligence tools as necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be a successful candidate for this position, the following are required:
A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
At least 5 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis or corporate finance.
3+ years of successful experience in a leadership role, managing and developing a team.
Exceptionally strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to senior leadership.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience with ERP systems (like NetSuite) and FP&A software or business intelligence tools (such as Tableau, Snowflake, or Alteryx) is advantageous.
