Job Opportunity: Director, Fund Administration (Accounting)

The position as Director, Fund Administration plays a critical role in enhancing and scaling Juniper Square's fund administration service. The service is pivotal in addressing gaps within the fund administration space and has greatly influenced operational workflow through technology. This role directly impacts workflow automation to enhance customer experience whilst enabling General Partners (GPs) to strengthen their relationships with Limited Partners (LPs).

Responsibilities

As a Director, you will be pivotal in:

  • Team Leadership and Management:
    • Staffing and capacity management, collaborating with leadership to foresee hiring needs.
    • Hiring, onboarding, and training a diverse team in varying levels of experience.
    • Conducting formal performance reviews, providing coaching and feedback to enhance team performance.
    • Focusing on team satisfaction through bi-annual employee engagement surveys and executing initiatives for improvement.
  • Client Service and Fund Accounting Delivery:
    • Overseeing fund administration service delivery, ensuring that client deliverables are accurate and timely.
    • Maintaining client relationships, managing challenging situations, and administrative complications.
    • Identifying areas for improvements in team productivity and collaborating with the Product Team.
    • Maintaining strong controls around deliverables and evolving these controls as the team grows.
    • Supervising the year-end audit process and managing any out-of-scope client requests.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 12 years of fund accounting experience in areas such as private equity, venture capital, real estate, or hedge funds—experience at a fund administrator is essential.
  • At least 5 years of team management experience, including hiring and guiding entry-level fund accountants.
  • Strong client and relationship management skills to drive necessary outcomes and customer satisfaction.
  • An operational mindset with an emphasis on establishing repeatable and scalable processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization and navigate ambiguity.
