As the Engineering Manager, the responsibilities include:
Managing a team of Android and iOS engineers engaged in developing and maintaining features of the Oura app that relate to women’s bodies and health.
Overseeing the development of complex, technical projects and ensuring alignment across different engineering teams.
Contributing to project planning and scoping, as well as taking responsibility for the execution of engineering projects.
Fostering collaboration among stakeholders from various functions including Product, Design, Science, and Regulatory teams.
Mentoring team members to drive professional growth and skills development.
Providing technical leadership to the engineering team, facilitating challenging technical discussions, and influencing decision-making processes.
Establishing performance metrics for continuous improvements in engineering practices and functionality.,
The ideal candidate must have several key qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of 5+ years in software engineering is required, including at least 2 years in a managerial role overseeing software engineers.
Technical Skills: A strong background in managing teams of Android and/or iOS engineers is essential. The applicant should have experience in delivering consumer-facing mobile applications as well as Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Project Management: Strong organizational and delegation skills are required to oversee cross-functional projects from initiation through to product launch.
People Management: Candidates should exhibit strong leadership qualities, including recognition of achievements, constructive feedback, and an openness to receiving feedback themselves.
Work-Life Balance: The candidate should value promoting well-being within their team, demonstrating an understanding of workload management and personal life balance.
Passion for Health: A strong interest in improving women’s health and addressing the underserved needs within this sector is a valuable asset.
Further desirable qualifications include:
8+ years of total experience in software roles, at least 4+ years as a manager.
Experience with FDA-regulated products or work in health industries.
