Job Position: Engineering Manager

The company is currently seeking an Engineering Manager who will lead and develop the engineering team responsible for delivering their state-of-the-art construction permitting software. Responsibilities

As the Engineering Manager, you will have a variety of key responsibilities that center on team leadership and technological development:

  • Lead and manage the engineering team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, feedback sessions, and create opportunities for career development.

  • Set strategic direction and proactively anticipate challenges in scaling through diligent technical and personnel planning.

  • Define priorities, track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and manage technical debt while aligning with the overarching business objectives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and design, to develop and prioritize technical requirements and set project timelines.

  • Manage agile processes to ensure a high velocity and efficiency in product development.

  • Ensure adherence to best practices in software architecture, system design, and code quality.

  • Oversee systems and infrastructure to ensure they are scalable, reliable, and secure.

  • Work closely with stakeholders across the organization, including product, finance, and customer success teams, to prioritize feature development to enhance customer experience.

  • Play a crucial role in the hiring process to expand the engineering team, while providing mentorship and career advancement support for team members.


Required Qualifications

To be a successful candidate for the Engineering Manager position, applicants should possess the following:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, including at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.

  • A strong alignment with PermitFlow’s culture and values, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, often ambiguous startup environment.

  • Proven experience in managing and scaling teams within a startup context.

  • Excellent communication skills, both for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
