Position Summary

Arcesium is looking for a self-motivated and critical thinker to join their Financial Operations team as a Financial Operations Lead. This role involves direct interaction with one of Arcesium’s largest clients—providing opportunities to engage with trading desks, investor relations, financial and management reporting teams, counterparties, and internal software development teams. The successful candidate will also work with colleagues in international offices and partake in special projects that may include historical analyses for new fund launches and metrics analysis.

Responsibilities

The Financial Operations Lead’s primary responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing the accuracy of Profit and Loss (P&L) statements.
  • Executing month-end trade accounting tasks.
  • Performing trade settlements and investigating discrepancies during breaks.
  • Processing various lifecycle events in financial transactions.
  • Involvement in industry and regulatory initiatives.
  • Analyzing deal structures, deal funding, and managing wire movements.

These tasks require attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities to ensure high standards of accuracy and diligence.

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, candidates should hold the following qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of trade support experience at a hedge fund, investment manager, or within another financial services firm.
  • Familiarity with settlements, reconciliations, and accounting practices is advantageous, alongside prior experience with loans, private and fixed income securities.
  • Excellent quantitative and problem-solving skills are imperative, coupled with strong communication skills.
  • Candidates should be self-starters, proactive, detail-oriented, and organized.
  • The ability to present findings to a variety of audiences, including senior management and external counterparts, is essential.
  • A degree in accounting, economics, finance, business, or math is necessary to meet educational requirements.

Salary and Benefits

The expected annual base salary for the Financial Operations Lead position ranges from $110,000 to $145,000. This compensation package also includes variable compensation structured as a year-end bonus, guaranteed for the first year of hiring.
