  • Prepping new patient charts, collating necessary documentation from paper and electronic sources.
  • Assembling medical records in standard order, ensuring they are accurate and complete.
  • Creating digital images of relevant paperwork for storage in electronic medical records.
  • Responding to internal and external requests for patient records and handling inbound/outbound calls.
  • Performing administrative duties such as fax handling, mail opening, and data entry.

Required Skills

To be eligible for the Health Information Specialist I position, candidates should possess:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Basic computer proficiency and comfort with using other general office equipment regularly.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills in English.
