Insurance Specialist Role

The Insurance Specialist at Equip plays a crucial role in facilitating the treatment process by acting as the bridge between insurance companies, patients/families, and the clinical team. Responsibilities include managing insurance verification, pre-authorizations, cost of care estimates, and maintaining the revenue cycle management (RCM) database. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic startup environment.

Key duties involve fostering relationships with insurance payors, entering and updating patient and insurance data, responding to inquiries, and ensuring consistent collaboration with the RCM, Finance, and Accounting departments. Confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA privacy standards are paramount in this role.

Applicants for this position should have over three years of healthcare experience, particularly in billing or insurance verification, and be familiar with EMR and billing software. The position demands professional communication skills and a high level of organizational awareness and adaptability.

Compensation and Benefits

The Insurance Specialist position offers a base pay range of $55,000 to $65,000 per year, along with a flexible PTO policy and 11 paid company holidays.
