The Team and Investment Strategy

IFT Investments, a crucial arm of the organization, is responsible for the protection and growth of the treasury assets. This is achieved through three strategic investment methods: short-term, medium-term (1-3 years), and long-term (over 3 years) strategies. This includes liquid crypto token trading and venture capital investments in crypto and related businesses. Candidates wishing to join the team should possess expertise in at least two of these investment verticals.

Key Responsibilities

The role demands extensive engagement in investment analysis and research. This involves conducting comprehensive market analysis across various global macro and digital assets, researching macro trends, protocols, and emerging sector narratives. A key duty is to identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities with the creation of financial models and valuation frameworks.

The position also involves providing portfolio management support, helping with the trading and execution for approved strategies and deals, and monitoring portfolio performance and risk metrics. Strategic development is crucial, requiring building and maintaining key industry relationships and participating in investment committee discussions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates must exhibit a self-directed work ethic, strong initiative, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Other essential skills include critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills. A comfort level with unstructured environments and rapid change is necessary to thrive in this role.

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Investments, or a related field is required, with a preference for professional certifications such as FMVA, CA, CFA, MBA, or CAIA. Relevant investment experience is necessary, accompanied by financial analysis skills, hands-on crypto experience, and a sound understanding of blockchain technology.

Bonus Points and Benefits

While the role requires significant expertise, bonus points are awarded for prior roles in crypto organizations or treasury management, personal crypto investing experience of over three years, and early-stage investing experience. However, even if candidates do not meet all criteria, IFT encourages them to apply and explain why they would be a great fit in their cover letter.

Hiring Process

The hiring process at IFT involves several stages. It begins with an introductory call with the Talent team, followed by interviews with the Investment Analyst and the CFO. Candidates will then complete a paid project requiring 2-3 hours of work before an interview with a co-founder. A background check might also be a component.
