  • Safety assurance: Act as an independent custodian of safety, providing technical support to the broader Submarine Enterprise while critically challenging designs from a safety perspective.

Required Skills and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, although equivalent experience in design or commissioning is also greatly valued.

  • Hands-on experience with event reporting systems: The ability to identify issues, investigate root causes, and offer effective resolutions is key.

  • Proven capability in design proving: Experience leading projects through verification, validation, and successful commissioning.

  • A solid background in mechanical engineering with practical knowledge in design, testing, and commissioning.

  • A strong grasp of design reviews, audits, change management, and resolving complex technical challenges will be essential.
