Job Role: Lead Technical Writer, Developer Experience

Trustly is on the lookout for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to contribute to their Developer Documentation. The primary responsibility involves crafting clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documentation tailored for developers and technical users. The role emphasizes collaboration with the development, QA, and product teams to effectively translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly content. The content to be produced will include but is not limited to:

  • API references
  • User guides
  • Integration manuals

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will undertake several key duties to ensure effective documentation:

  • Write and maintain documentation for software development tools, APIs, SDKs, and libraries.

  • Manage API reference documentation and establish a collaborative framework with engineers to ensure a consistent theme and tone.

  • Leverage AI-powered writing tools to create and refine documentation.

  • Continuously explore and evaluate new AI tools and technologies to optimize documentation workflows.

  • Work closely with product managers to produce high-quality technical guides that align with product roadmaps and meet developer needs.

  • Collaborate with engineers to maintain a unified style in API documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should meet the following requirements to be considered for the role:



  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technical Writing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience: At least 5+ years of experience writing technical documentation specifically for software development or APIs.

  • Programming Knowledge: A solid understanding of programming principles, version control (like Git), CI/CD pipelines, and Agile processes, along with familiarization with common development tools and languages such as HTML and Markdown.

  • API Experience: A strong grounding in RESTful API design, proficiency with API testing tools (such as Postman), and experience in documenting API functionalities and troubleshooting.
