In this role, you will be embedded within product teams from initial ideation stages through to launch. Your responsibilities will encompass the following:
Advise on Payments Products: Support a comprehensive range of payments-related initiatives across various departments. You will navigate complexities in regulatory matters while maintaining product integrity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with different teams including Compliance, Risk, Engineering, Operations, and Legal to ensure that legal perspectives are integrated from the onset, fostering open dialogue and active engagement.
Launch New Capabilities: Support the introduction of new payment capabilities such as Zelle by advising teams on risks, evaluating options, and assisting in decision-making processes.
Financial Crime Compliance: Collaborate with Mercury’s AML Advisory, Compliance, and Risk teams on issues related to financial crimes, interpreting requirements and guiding teams to maintain an effective risk posture.
Scalable Legal Frameworks: Your insight will be instrumental in crafting frameworks that not only address immediate legal questions but also facilitate long-term decision-making consistency across the organization.
Innovative Use of AI: Incorporate AI tools into legal workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. A genuine interest in leveraging technology to improve processes will be crucial.
Adaptability: As the regulatory landscape evolves, staying abreast of changes while continuously adapting to new challenges will be key to your success in this role.
Candidates interested in this position should possess:
4+ Years of Legal Experience: Experience in legal practice is essential and should include working with fintech, banks, or payments companies.
