The Role

MindsDB is seeking a Platform & Infrastructure Engineer who is proficient and seasoned in backend development. As part of the technology team, the selected candidate will play a crucial role in designing and implementing complex backend services that are highly scalable. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement new microservices tailored for specific functional requirements.
• Enhance existing services for superior scalability and performance by employing various fan-out and queuing patterns.
• Migrate certain services from monolithic systems to scalable architectures.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and industry partners to accurately gather requirements and devise actionable solutions.
• Oversee project management responsibilities, working independently or with remote engineering teams to achieve shared goals.
• Maintain accountability for the overall quality, uptime, and functionality of MindsDB's suite of services and infrastructure.
• Contribute actively to an open-source project to foster community engagement.

Requirements

Candidates for this position should meet the following criteria:

• 5+ years of industry experience using Python or comparable programming experience.
• Proficiency in backend engineering, including the development of microservices / APIs.
• Thorough understanding of designing highly scalable microservices and familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to thrive in collaborative settings and contribute within Agile workflows.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Machine Learning and AI technologies and tools.
• Debugging experience with monitoring tools like Grafana and Prometheus.
