Role Overview
The organization is seeking a Payroll Admin & HR Specialist who will play a pivotal role in enhancing the employee experience at Traliant. This role intertwines payroll ownership with general HR responsibilities, allowing for hands-on support spanning the entire HR lifecycle. The selected candidate will manage payroll processes, oversee HRIS data integrity and reporting, and actively contribute to various HR programs aimed at boosting engagement, ensuring compliance, and promoting organizational growth. Key Responsibilities
The position encompasses a variety of tasks critical to the company's HR operations, which includes:
Payroll Management
End-to-end payroll processing for a remote workforce spread across multiple states in the U.S. and Canada on a bi-weekly cycle. This includes managing processes for new hires, terminations, promotions, and compensation changes.
Timesheet validation: Review and verify timesheets to ensure accurate wage calculations, including deductions, bonuses, and overtime.
Perform regular audits of timekeeping and payroll data to ensure compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Collaborate with the Finance team to validate and resolve any discrepancies that arise.
Set up and maintain payroll tax accounts, ensuring timely filing of quarter-end and year-end payroll tax reports such as W-2s and 1099s in compliance with relevant regulations.
Maintain accurate payroll records and actively monitor for compliance.
Manage the company’s worker's compensation policy and ensure compliance across all participating states.
HR Generalist & Systems Support
Serve as the administrator for HRIS and other HR technology platforms, ensuring data integrity and reporting accuracy while driving enhancements.
Manage the company's virtual stable mailbox, ensuring that incoming items such as state wage reports, unemployment claims, and official correspondence are handled promptly.
Support various HR programs that include onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, compliance training, and employee engagement initiatives.
Act as a knowledgeable resource for employees regarding payroll, benefits, and HR policies.
Assist in both internal and external audits by providing accurate HR and payroll documentation.
Contribute to HR projects that focus on process improvements, compliance, and analytics aimed at enhancing the employee experience and engagement.
Adapt to the evolving needs of the growing HR team by taking on additional projects beyond the traditional payroll scope when necessary.
Required Qualifications
To be eligible for this position, candidates must hold the following qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years of combined payroll and HR generalist experience, preferably in a multi-state or remote work environment.
Solid knowledge of payroll processing, tax regulations, and employment laws. Familiarity with Canadian payroll is a plus.
Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms, particularly Paylocity, is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis techniques.
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer-service orientation.
A self-starter ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities independently.

Salary and Benefits
The pay range for the Payroll Admin & HR Specialist role is between $70,000 - $80,000 annually. Additionally, the position may come with an annual bonus opportunity. Employees based in Washington will accrue 15 days of PTO during their first year of employment and are eligible for 12 holidays annually. Benefits coverage is subject to specific terms and conditions, including eligibility rules, waiting periods, and contribution parameters.
