Job Position

As an Epic Application Analyst, you will act as the primary contact for the interfaces assigned to you in the Epic Systems environment. You will implement and support the interfaces and will be required to work closely with project managers, application teams, and technical teams to ensure that all interfaces meet the needs of end-users effectively. Your responsibilities will also include configuring and supporting interfaces used for migrating application builds employing the Data Courier application. In this position, you will have coordination responsibilities, conducting analysis sessions to understand interface business needs, creating technical designs, and managing issue triages as necessary.

Required Skills

To qualify for this position, candidates are required to possess strong analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills. A solid understanding of ambulatory clinic workflows, including orders and documentation, is essential. Furthermore, you should demonstrate:

  • Flexibility in adapting to changing end-user business needs.
  • Clear and concise communication with project leadership and subject matter experts.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with Epic counterparts.
  • Willingness to learn new software and systems, as well as having strong listening skills to ensure clarity in communication practices.

Required Experience

The position requires different levels of experience based on the specific role:

  • Epic Application Analyst I, Bridges Interface:

    • A bachelor's degree or a clinical specialty license/certification.
    • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
    • Preferred experience with one of the following Epic modules: Ambulatory EHR, Bones Orthopaedics, Kaleidoscope Ophthalmology, Urgent Care, & Epic Care Link.
    • Experience with PIH Health clinical workflows is also preferred.
  • Epic Application Analyst II, Bridges Interface:


    • A bachelor’s degree.
    • 3 to 7 years of experience, with a minimum of 4 years being accepted in lieu of a degree.
    • Experience with interface engines and preferred familiarity with Bridges Interface and Data Courier.
  • Epic Application Analyst III, Bridges Interface:

    • A bachelor’s degree.
    • 7 or more years of experience with interface engines.
    • Preferred experience with the Bridges Interface and Data Courier modules.

Training and Certifications

Particularly for external applicants, there’s a critical requirement to possess current Epic certification in the assigned module at the time of hire, with proof of certification required. Internal applicants must obtain this certification within 120 days of their hire or transfer into the position. Failure to secure the certification within this timeframe may lead to removal from the position but allows the employee to apply to other internal roles they qualify for.
