Job Role: Safety & Certification Engineer

Enapter is in search of a Safety & Certification Engineer (m/f/d) to join its Product Safety and Certification (PS&C) team. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring that all safety-related tasks, risk assessments, and certification processes are effectively managed. The PS&C team operates within the Engineering department, offering a chance to work in an international environment with passionate professionals.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for several key tasks, including:

  • Development & Management:

    • Manage all safety-related tasks regarding Enapter's products, including conducting risk assessments, FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), Hazop (Hazard and Operability studies), etc.
    • Oversee product certification processes for both EU and non-EU markets, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
    • Develop and manage all documentation related to product safety, including technical dossiers and Declarations of Conformity.
  • Stakeholder Interaction:

    • Manage interfaces with both internal and external stakeholders such as other engineering departments, testing laboratories, Notified Bodies, and engineering consultants.
    • Represent Enapter in various standardization organizations and working groups focused on hydrogen at national and international levels.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To qualify for the role, candidates must possess:

  • A degree in engineering.

  • Previous experience in product safety engineering or hydrogen safety and certification.

  • In-depth understanding of European directives, particularly related to Machinery, PED (Pressure Equipment Directive), ATEX (Equipment for Explosive Atmospheres), and others like EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility), LVD (Low Voltage Directive), and REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals).



  • Experience with functional safety as per IEC 61508/61511 would be advantageous.

  • Proficiency in Italian and English.

  • A strong enthusiasm for the role of green hydrogen in future energy solutions.
