  • Serving as a subject matter expert internally and for customers on ZwitterCo products and targeted applications/markets.
  • Collaborating with the sales team during the customer discovery process and assessing commercial opportunities for technical feasibility and risk.
  • Providing post-sales technical support for partners and end-users, which may involve site visits to check on product performance or troubleshoot issues.
  • Developing process and system design guidelines for integration and fabrication partners focusing on spiral-wound membrane products.
  • Leading the development of ZwitterCo’s internal knowledge base by accumulating existing research and planning internal studies to gather product performance data.
  • Crafting customer proposals that include design and cost estimation for membrane systems, and reviewing proposals by less experienced applications engineers.
  • Conducting technical training sessions for OEM engineers and end-users both in-person and online.
  • Assessing and communicating technical risks related to new applications, projects, and partners.
  • Authoring technical guidance documents and delivering presentations to customers, industry partners, and ZwitterCo business leaders.
  • Offering mentorship to junior members of the applications engineering team.

Required Qualifications

Candidates interested in this role will need to meet a specific set of qualifications to ensure they can effectively contribute to ZwitterCo's objectives. The minimum requirements are as follows:

  • A university degree in engineering is mandatory, with a preference for candidates with a degree in chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineering.
  • At least 10 years of experience supporting crossflow membrane systems.
  • Expertise in one or both of the following areas:
    • Design and operation of industrial or brackish reverse osmosis (RO) systems.
    • Design and operation of food process membrane systems, including sanitary RO/NF/UF.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of non-membrane water and wastewater treatment technologies, including coagulation/flocculation, softening, and dissolved air flotation.
  • Familiarity with current market products related to RO/NF/UF membranes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, with comfort in public speaking (hosting training, webinars, etc.).
  • An understanding of local regulations affecting water and wastewater treatment is essential.
  • Fluency in English is required, while fluency in French and/or Arabic is highly desired.

Work Environment and Expectations

This position is fully remote, with the potential location being anywhere in Europe or the Middle East. However, access to a major international airport is highly desirable for travel, which is expected to be approximately 25% of the role. This travel primarily consists of customer success site visits and attending conferences, typically involving short trips of 2-3 nights. Additionally, travel to ZwitterCo offices in the US will occur several times each year for training and strategic meetings.
