Key Responsibilities

As a Senior BI Data Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, which includes utilizing pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and notebooks.

  • Integrating and consolidating data from multiple enterprise sources like ERP, CRM, and APIs into a centralized Lakehouse platform.

  • Developing and managing data layers (Bronze, Silver, Gold) to ensure the data is structured, clean, and business-ready, which enhances the availability of high-quality, reliable data for reporting and analytics.

  • Transforming datasets using SQL and PySpark, ensuring high data quality and usability.

  • Monitoring data pipelines and proactively troubleshooting issues, failures, and anomalies as they arise.

  • Implementing and maintaining data quality frameworks to guarantee accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data.

  • Optimizing data pipelines and storage for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency, including techniques like partitioning and incremental loads.

  • Collaborating with Business Intelligence (BI) Developers to support reporting, semantic models, and analytics requirements.

  • Engaging with stakeholders to comprehend their data requirements, translating these into effective data solutions.

  • Ensuring compliance with data governance standards and adhering to thorough documentation practices.

Required Skills

The role demands the following qualifications and experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.

  • Over 5 years of professional experience in data engineering.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric or similar platforms, such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), Synapse, or Databricks.

  • Advanced skills in SQL and Python / PySpark.

  • Familiarity with data pipeline development and orchestration.

  • In-depth knowledge of Lakehouse architecture (specifically Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) and data modeling practices.

  • Experience working with Power BI datasets and an understanding of end-to-end BI processes.

  • Awareness of data quality, governance, and optimization strategies.
