The responsibilities of the animator will be multifaceted and encompass various aspects of character and motion design. Some of the critical tasks include:
Designing and animating character mascots capable of delivering idle loops, reactions, and win celebrations that exude personality and quality.
Creating hero-section animations that fuse character elements with dynamic environments, such as coins and slot machines.
Rigging animations in Rive using state machines to ensure they react to live product events.
Managing a daily and weekly production pipeline focused on creating animations for various offers.
Collaborating closely with development teams to ensure responsive embedding, as well as working with design teams on the avatar art pipeline.
The ideal candidate will have a blend of experience and technical skills necessary for success in this position:
A minimum of 4 years of experience in the online casino or iGaming sector, with 3 years specifically in animation and motion design production that aligns with online casino themes.
Extensive proficiency with AI animation tools (such as Viggle, Kling, Runway) to facilitate rapid concepting and execution. Candidates should be prepared to discuss their practical experiences with these tools during the interview.
Proven capability in running high-intensity motion production while delivering rapid results; familiarity with studio-level motion production design is preferred.
While the above qualifications are mandatory, having additional skills can further enhance a candidate’s profile. These include:
Hands-on production experience with Rive, or comparable experience with software like Spine or DragonBones, with a strong portfolio showcasing character animation.
Experience developing rigged character skeletons that support multiple states and interactions.
Knowledge of particle and visual effects (VFX) for animations such as coin bursts and win effects.
Ruby Labs operates primarily within the Central European Time (CET) zone but welcomes applicants from any location within approximately ± 4 hours of CET to facilitate effective collaboration.
