Responsibilities

As a Senior Linux SysAdmin, your responsibilities will encompass the following areas:

  • Determining the Bill of Materials (BOM) for electrical and mechanical components.
  • Executing the deployment of Bare Metal servers, switches, storage (CEPH), Hardening, and WhiteSDN solutions.
  • Designing and executing Acceptance Test Plans (ATP) in collaboration with contractors.
  • Conducting troubleshooting to ensure proper installation of physical infrastructure.
  • Performing updates on Kernel, critical packages, and network configurations (netplan).
  • Implementing advanced Hardening measures on servers.
  • Documenting the deployed infrastructure and maintaining up-to-date documentation.
  • Channeling client requirements to internal teams.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of existing infrastructures.
  • Supervising and mentoring less experienced engineers.
  • Participating in maintenance windows for critical systems.
  • Traveling to data centers when required.

Qualifications

Candidates for this position should possess the following qualifications:

  • A degree in Computer Engineering, Systems, Electronics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years in Linux server administration and deployment.
  • At least 3 years experience in cloud, datacenter, networking, or telecommunications environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Linux: installation, configuration, and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Bash for task automation.
  • Intermediate networking knowledge: VLANs, IPTables, routing, bonding, and IP Fabric.
  • Intermediate virtualization skills (KVM necessary; OpenStack desirable).
  • Experience with automation using Ansible and/or Python for API consumption and configuration management.
  • Intermediate knowledge of containers, particularly Docker (Kubernetes is a plus).
  • Proficient in the installation of physical infrastructure, including servers, switches, cabling, power, and racks.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems: AC/DC distribution in datacenters.
  • Proficient in using Git: handling repositories, branches, commits (pull/push).
  • Advanced English skills (technical writing); basic conversational English.
  • Desirable certifications in Linux or OpenStack, along with experience in generating technical documentation and configuring network equipment.
