The position of Senior Quality Engineer involves contributing to the Vault Infrastructure team, which is integral to the delivery and reliability of the Veeva Vault platform. Responsibilities include:
Understanding the architecture of Vault infrastructure and testing infrastructure changes.
Setting up, maintaining, and improving the infrastructure test environment.
Developing strategies for testing infrastructure features, which possibly include scenarios like zero downtime upgrades, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR).
Creating documentation related to testing such as test plans, cases, and bug reports.
Executing QA activities including test execution, bug verification, and outcome assessments.
Utilizing programming capabilities to automate and optimize cloud-based infrastructure testing.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including software engineers and product managers, to ensure quality standards.
To be eligible for this role, candidates need to meet several requirements, which include:
Educational Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Technical Skills: Experience in white-box testing or Infrastructure Validation (Deployment, HA, DR, etc.), proficiency with cloud infrastructure technologies such as AWS, and programming experience in languages such as Java, C#, JavaScript, Python, or Bash/Shell.
Automation Experience: Proven track record in developing infrastructure automation strategies.
Leadership Qualities: Ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members and peers.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication capability to facilitate effective collaboration.
Tools Familiarity: Adept with tools like ELK Stack, CloudWatch, Terraform, and version control systems like GitLab or GitHub.
Preferred Experience: Familiarity with unit/functional test frameworks (JUnit, TestNg, Cucumber), Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence), and a background in the Health Sciences and Life Sciences industry is highly regarded.
Veeva Systems offers competitive compensation for the Senior Quality Engineer role. The base salary ranges from $90,000 to $150,000 CAD, subject to variation based on individual qualifications, experience, and contributions to the team.
