This role is integral to Quality Assurance and Release Engineering at Veeva, and the selected candidate’s primary responsibility will include functional and automation testing to uphold the software's quality. The responsibilities of the Senior Quality Engineer include:
Creating essential testing-related documentation which includes test plans, scripts, and bug reports assessing quality and associated risk.
Collaborating with automation groups to facilitate the automated testing of new features ensuring improved regression coverage.
Assisting in the triaging process of automation results as they arise.
Developing in-depth expertise of the Veeva product and performing QA tests within scheduled timelines.
Working with software engineers and product managers in an Agile team environment.
Leading technical discussions during product design and implementation reviews, ensuring that quality considerations are embedded early in the process.
Providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members, thus influencing decisions that help improve overall product quality.
Implementing new QA processes and techniques in collaboration with QA management and driving forward initiatives that will enhance overall efficiency.
Candidates for this position should possess or demonstrate:
A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science/Applications, or a related field.
Proficiency in coding, particularly in Java or mobile languages.
Familiarity with Software QA methodologies and approaches, both black box and automated testing.
Experience in writing test cases and automating them, ensuring thorough coverage of both basic and in-depth testing scenarios.
Relevant work experience in software development and/or software test automation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with proven leadership abilities or mentorship experience.
While not mandatory, candidates with the following skills will have an advantage:
Experience in programming languages such as Python or other object-oriented languages.
Familiarity with Cypress, SQL, and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Experience in authoring automated tests using established frameworks like Selenium or TestNG.
A background in a SaaS environment with an Agile methodology would also be a noteworthy asset.
Experience working in the Health Sciences or the Life Sciences industry, including skills in Mobile Testing and Automation using tools like Appium or Espresso.
The base salary range for this position is projected between $90,000 and $165,000, although actual offers may vary according to individual qualifications, experience, and location. In addition to the base salary, the position may be eligible for further compensation through bonuses or stock options.
