The listed responsibilities for the Senior Quality Engineer include:
Creating comprehensive testing-related documentation, including test plans, test cases/scripts, and bug reports to assess quality and associated risks.
Collaborating closely with the automation group to enhance regression coverage through automated features.
Conducting Quality Assurance (QA) tests within predefined schedules, ensuring timely verification and resolution of issues.
Collaborating in an Agile team environment with software engineers and product managers.
Influencing product quality by providing technical leadership and expertise to junior teammates.
Developing a deep understanding of the product and establishing best practices for quality assurance.
Engaging in technical discussions during design/implementation reviews.
Contributing to the development and rollout of new QA processes and improvements across the organization.
Candidates for the Senior Quality Engineer position must meet the following qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience coding in Java and/or mobile languages is essential.
A solid understanding of Software QA methodologies, tools, and approaches (both manual and automated testing) is necessary.
Proficiency in writing test cases and automating tests that cover a wide range of scenarios such as boundary, negative, and compatibility tests.
Relevant work experience in software development and/or software test automation.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
Additional skills that may enhance a candidate's application include:
Proficiency in Java, Python, or other object-oriented programming languages.
Experience with automation tools such as Cypress, and knowledge in using SQL.
Familiarity with Atlassian products like Jira and Confluence.
Background in modern software development practices and Agile methodologies.
Experience working in the Health Sciences and Life Sciences sectors, particularly with mobile testing and automation.
The position offers a competitive salary range between $90,000 - $165,000 CAD. This salary range is provided to adhere to regional regulations and represents potential earnings for the role, with individual offers dependent on the candidate's experience and qualifications. In addition to salary, candidates may also be eligible for variable bonuses and stock options.
