The position of Sr. Network Engineer II is part of CrowdStrike's Network Engineering team. This role is critical in performing tasks related to expanding and supporting the enterprise network. In this role, the Sr. Network Engineer will undertake various responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Design, implement, and validate solutions to complex network engineering problems involving cloud, data center, and remote office settings that align with established network and security architecture standards.
Monitor network infrastructure and traffic; document problem areas while making recommendations for improvements based on current and projected enterprise network footprint.
Collaborate with stakeholders on network architecture, ensuring timely and clear documentation of project requirements, design details, issues, risks, and constraints.
Create and maintain clear graphical and written documentation of network architecture and technical standards to remove all forms of tribal knowledge.
Provide tier-3 support for critical network incidents, resolved efficiently within a timely manner and ensure customer service satisfaction.
Prepare and execute scheduled network maintenance adhering to designated maintenance windows.
Develop and deliver professional presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences, maintaining clarity and professionalism in communication.
Share subject matter expertise with project teams and actively engage in cross-team initiatives.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior Network Engineering personnel.
To be successful in the Sr. Network Engineer II role, the following skills and experiences are required:
Ten or more years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting scalable enterprise data center and remote office networks, utilizing enterprise-class routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
Extensive experience with routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and multicast, combined with knowledge on Voice Over IP (VoIP) and QoS within enterprise environments.
Five or more years of experience working with AWS network design and implementation within multi-region and hybrid cloud environments, including understanding VPN, transit gateways, and other AWS networking components.
Familiarity with configuring and managing Palo Alto Networks firewalls and access control technologies such as Cisco ISE and Aruba ClearPass.
Experience in scripting languages like Python or shell scripting, along with automation using Ansible and REST APIs.
Good grasp of project documentation tools, including Microsoft Office, Visio, and project management tools like Microsoft Project and Jira.
Experience with Zscaler cloud security solutions and knowledge of zero-trust environments are considered beneficial.
Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal, are mandatory.
Willingness to travel occasionally for network deployments, along with the ability to lift 50lbs and participate in on-call rotations as necessary.
