Position Summary

Thrive is seeking a Systems Engineer to join their team. The role will primarily involve remote client support, which includes substantial interaction with end-users across diverse computing environments. The ideal candidate should possess a robust technical proficiency, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a desire to learn. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for handling escalation tickets from Technical Support Engineers and maintaining open lines of communication with clients throughout the troubleshooting process.

Primary Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Systems Engineer focus on maintaining and supporting a wide range of computing environments. Duties will include:

  • Analyzing and documenting diverse client/server and network environments to assess resolution paths.
  • Rapidly analyzing workstation/server incidents and identifying root causes.
  • Providing consulting services on specific applications, best practices, and general computing processes.
  • Troubleshooting high-level workstation, server, and network incidents in accordance with Thrive’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Setting client expectations and providing timely updates during the troubleshooting process.
  • Utilizing appropriate software tools, including Thrive’s Protect software, to ensure rapid resolution of customer incidents.
  • Monitoring the service desk service board for escalated service tasks, ensuring they are prioritized and addressed effectively.
  • Communicating clearly about the steps taken during troubleshooting and resolution processes.
  • Demonstrating urgency in resolving client incidents.

Resolution of incidents may involve a range of issues including:


  • Mail Application/Office 365 problems.
  • Client/Server Connectivity issues.
  • Workstation incidents that are time-sensitive or involve VIP clients.
  • File restores and remote access incidents.
  • Networked printer issues.
  • Other incidents escalated from the Technical Support Engineers.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Technical Degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • A problem solver with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • 4-6+ years of experience in desktop and/or server support.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting network configurations and hardware issues.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Server and Workstation Technologies.
  • Knowledge of Office 365 and Azure services.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
  • Willingness to be available for after-hours work or on-call rotations as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with VMWare.
  • Relevant certifications, such as:
    • CompTIA A+/Network+
    • MS-900: Office 365 Fundamentals
    • AZ-900: Azure Fundamentals
    • MS-102: Microsoft 365 Administrator
