Overview

The opportunity presented by TalentGenius is for a Full-Stack Software Engineer with a focus on Applied AI. This position is fully remote and open to candidates from anywhere in the world, which reflects the company's commitment to a flexible work environment. With the increasing importance of AI in software development, this role offers a chance to work hands-on with innovative tools and applications in the rapidly growing field of artificial intelligence.

The Role

The primary responsibility is to work directly with the CTO and a small, dedicated team to build AgentPowered, a marketplace aimed at facilitating interactions between agent builders and companies. The engineer will be involved in developing end-to-end features across the entire technology stack, integrating Large Language Models (LLM), and ensuring the platform is user-friendly, fast, reliable, and secure.

Each engineer will take ownership of key features as they develop the marketplace, which includes functionalities that enable users to create, list, and transact with various AI agents. This directly ties into the company’s mission to harness AI capabilities into products that offer real value.

What You’ll Build

The scope of work encompasses several areas:

  • User-facing surfaces: Development of profiles, listings, search and ranking features, proposals, contracts, billing, and payout systems.
  • Backend/API: Creating REST/JSON APIs along with managing authentication, idempotent actions, pagination, and rate limits.
  • Data + workflows: Designing database schemas in PostgreSQL, managing queues and schedulers, and developing sync pipelines along with telemetry events to monitor performance.
  • AI integrations: Implementing features that leverage embeddings, retrieval functions, evaluators, and runtime environments for different agents and tools within the product flows.
  • Guardrails: Establishing cost controls, tracking mechanisms, feature flags, and fallback strategies to ensure the robustness of the marketplace.

How You Work — The Agentic Mindset

The ideal candidate should adopt an Agentic Mindset, which emphasizes planning, acting, observing, and reflecting in cycles to achieve goals. The company values small, measurable outputs and encourages engineers to ship their work weekly. Other qualities include:

  • Tool Use: Selecting and chaining various tools effectively, ensuring clear contracts and typed input/output.
  • Observability: Keeping track of essential metrics like latency, error rates, and overall system performance.
  • Safety & Privacy: Following best practices around security including minimal access privileges, encryption, and data protection.
  • Clarity and Communication: Native-level proficiency in English is critical to ensure effective communication within the team and with stakeholders.

Experience That Maps

The job requires candidates to have a significant background in developing user-facing web products across the entire stack. The following qualifications are necessary:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in full-stack development, including both the front-end and back-end, with expertise in Postgres/SQL.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and familiarity with server-rendered web concepts.
  • A solid understanding of API design, including elements like authentication, idempotency, and pagination.
  • Bonus points for experience with advanced AI topics like embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation, evaluations, or working in multi-tenant SaaS environments.

Your Agentic Toolbelt

To excel in this position, candidates should be familiar with a range of tools and extensions, such as:

  • VS Code extensions: Familiarity with tools like GitHub Copilot and ESLint.
  • CLI & Local Tools: Comfort using command-line tools and local models for testing and developing.
  • Experience working with Postgres, caching solutions like Redis, and integration with platforms like Slack and Notion for project management.

Company Culture

TalentGenius promotes a culture that is fully remote and deeply dedicated to innovating the way companies engage with agent solutions and AI. The team focuses on developing new business models that harness the potential of agentics, providing a solid foundation for both personal and professional growth. This opportunity not only presents a chance to be at the forefront of technology development but also to work within a supportive team environment.

This role is ideal for those who have a passion for technology and an eagerness to contribute to cutting-edge projects in the realm of applied AI.
