Job Opportunity

The position available is for a Technical Lead who will report to the Head of Engineering. This role involves leading a team of engineers, ensuring accountability, and overseeing project deliveries. The Technical Lead will also facilitate communication between engineering teams and other stakeholders and will support team members in achieving both company objectives and personal development goals.

Responsibilities

The Technical Lead will be responsible for a variety of critical tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Collaborating with Engineering Management, Operations, and Product Teams to create and execute team objectives and strategies.
  • Leading technical planning for team projects.
  • Ensuring team performance and quality output by driving accountability.
  • Working with project managers to maintain consistent team meeting cadence (planning sessions, 1-1 meetings, stand-ups).
  • Communicating progress, roadblocks, and concerns to management.
  • Organizing and leading stakeholder meetings.
  • Advocating for the team's needs, including addressing technical debts.
  • Providing technical guidance and overseeing code review processes.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and supporting personal development strategies for team members.
  • Leading estimation efforts and deployment processes within the team.

Experience & Qualifications Required

The ideal candidate for this Technical Lead position should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in a senior software engineering role.
  • Strong proficiency in Agile principles and processes.
  • Familiarity with contemporary software engineering methodologies and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with teams at all levels and establish constructive working relationships.
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities including promoting team dynamics and performance coaching.
  • Experience in managing projects and delivering products to a substantial user base.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or at least 4 years of relevant managerial experience.
  • Comfortability with technologies like NodeJS, React, RabbitMQ, REST APIs, and various database technologies (PostgreSQL, Redis, etc.).

Desirable Experience

While not mandatory, the following experiences would be advantageous:



  • Building Serverless applications using AWS Lambda.
  • Familiarity with SSR methodologies and frameworks, particularly Next.js.
  • Exposure to AWS services such as EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, and S3.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices.
  • Knowledge of observability tools such as Splunk or Kibana.
  • Experience within the travel or retail industries.
