  • Developing the recruiting system which includes calibrated scorecards, structured interviews, competency maps, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and scalable reporting processes.

  • Sourcing talent from unique avenues—such as cleared communities, niche forums, meetups, labs, alumni networks, and premier educational programs—by executing targeted outreach that leads to successful hires.

  • Acting as an advisor to the founders and engineering leadership, providing labor-market insights, funnel diagnostics, capacity planning, and compensation guidance crucial for strategic hiring initiatives.

  • Crafting the company’s recruiting image through compelling job descriptions, engaging outreach narratives, micro-websites, events, and content tailored for mission-driven candidates.

  • Ensuring an exceptional candidate experience through clear communication, effective preparation, and prompt feedback loops.

  • Tracking, analyzing, and improving recruitment processes with metrics like weekly dashboards and source/quality analyses to enhance hiring quality and efficiency.

Required Skills

The ideal candidate will possess the following key qualifications:

  • 7+ years of total recruiting experience with over 5 years specifically in hands-on technical recruiting.

  • Proven track record in hiring across multiple technical domains, including mechanical, manufacturing, software, avionics, and embedded systems, preferably in startup or hyperscale environments.

  • Experience in building or significantly upgrading recruiting processes such as scorecards, calibration rubrics, and structured loops.

  • Demonstrated ability to source and close elusive engineering talent in competitive markets, with comfort within or adjacent to cleared environments.

  • Experience as a full-cycle owner and partner with hiring managers, capable of advising on trade-offs and conducting weekly headcount reviews.

  • Excellent writing skills to create job descriptions and outreach content that reflects the company’s mission and drives candidate engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

While the following qualifications are not mandatory, they would give a competitive edge:

  • Previous recruitment experience focused on safety-critical systems, flight hardware, or defense systems.

  • Familiarity with domaines such as RTOS, C/C++, Python, controls, sensor fusion, and related technologies, enabling quick calibration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

  • Experience in scaling teams, particularly from around 40 to over 100 personnel post-Series A.

  • Familiarity working with cleared talent pipelines and understanding how to navigate these landscapes effectively.
